The Institute of safety professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) was inaugurated in August 1980, at the end of the Annual conference of the National Industrial Safety Council of Nigeria that Year, when safety Professionals representing members companies on the NISCN decided to form as association that would be available to offer professional technical advice to the NISCN as may be necessary.
