In furtherance of one of our cardinal objectives of building capacity in the Capital Market and Financial System, the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) Academy in partnership with the Lagos Business School (LBS) is pleased to present to you the Executive Training Programme on “Sustainability, ESG and other Emerging Risks: What Should Business Leaders Do?”
The need for a better understanding of the issues, challenges (risks) and opportunities in creating sustainable societies and businesses is increasing. From many economies and sectors, results indicate that firms that are high in the understanding and practice of sustainability (ESG) show higher financial performance and better cost management, lower volatility, increased employee productivity, higher compliance to rules and regulation, and higher top-line growth. With these emerging developments, investors are increasingly using non-financial factors (environment, social and governance) as part of their analysis to identify material risks, growth opportunities and investment decisions.
This two-day high-impact programme will critically examine the increasing demand for effective integration of sustainability (ESG) in our business decisions and operations with a focus on the understanding of the challenges, opportunities and implementation strategies. This programme will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Sustainability, ESG and other Emerging Risks. The course provides a concise and precise training that will enhance the knowledge and performance of middle management staff, Senior Managers and Directors of companies operating in the Nigerian financial market. The learning modules of the programme directly address different aspects of the needs of participants using relevant concepts, frameworks, cases, and peculiar Nigerian contexts. The programme is structured as a hybrid course: there is a virtual option as well as face-to-face physical attendance option for better interaction and networking amongst participants.
The programme will be delivered by a selected team of highly resourceful facilitators and recognized faculty of experts with over 30 years diverse experience in Risk management, Finance, Governance, Sustainability, Securities trading, etc. This includes the Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Dr Timi Agama; the Vice Chancellor of Pan-Atlantic University, Prof. Enase F.
