This course is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants for effective management of community-based infrastructure. Specifically, at the end of the course, participants should be able to:
- Identify the constraints affecting effective management of community-based infrastructure.
- Highlight the effects of government and donor agencies’ efforts at providing rural infrastructure in communities.
- Identify the benefits of training the users of infrastructure for effective management of community-based infrastructure; and
- Promote community involvement in the sustainability of rural infrastructure.

Project facilitators, management committee members of CDA in IFAD-CASP, FADAMA III AF, CSDP, VCDP, supervisors and Heads of Agriculture Department in Local Government Councils, facilitators of NGOs/CBOs, community development officers and coordinators of public and private-sector organizations involved in grassroots development.
Training Methodology
The training methodology combines lectures, discussions, group exercises and illustrations. Participants will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge of the topics. The emphasis is on the practical application of the topics and as a result participant will go back to the workplace with both the ability and the confidence to apply the techniques learned to their duties.
