Health, Safety and Environment Course

Health, Safety, and Environment training courses encompass all of the technical, procedural, and behavioural inputs required to create and maintain genuinely successful HSE management systems. NEBOSH Health and Safety at Work Training contains useful Health and Safety work practices and its applications. NEBOSH has launched NEBOSH Award in Health and Safety at Work recently to facilitate basic Health and Safety training to Corporate. The duration of the course is four days, which include a one day one-hour objective type examination. On successful completion of this course, individual participants will be awarded with NEBOSH HSW Award certificate.

Syllabus:

Unit HSW-1

• The foundation of health and safety
• The responsibility for health and safety
• Health and safety risk assessment and control
• Hazards and controls associated with work equipment
• Transport Safety
• Hazards and controls associated with working with electricity
• Fire Safety
• Hazards and controls associated with manual handling and repetitive Movement
• Hazards and controls associated with hazardous substances
• Hazards and controls associated with the working environment

Unit HSW 2

• Workplace risk assessment activity

Students are assessed by a multiple choice examination and a practical risk assessment which tests their ability to put into practice the knowledge gained during the course.

 A Certificate Parchment is issued on successful completion of the two units.

 Pre-requisite: None.

NEBOSH recommends that candidates undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 or higher in IELTS tests in order to be accepted onto an Award in Health and Safety at Work programme.

Duration: The course has a study time of 18 taught hours and 6 hours of private study.

Suggested Progression: This qualification is an ideal first step towards other higher-level NEBOSH qualifications including NEBOSH’s International General Certificate and NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety
