Emergency exercises are developed to tackle unforeseen circumstances when they occur, having a contingency plan and mastering the process of the exercise design by all members of an organization reduces the risk of loss or collapse from all angles thought out for an organization or its workers. The course shows the relationship between what you want to do and how you do it when the time comes, a talk of plans and capabilities. They are an essential aspect of an organization's emergency planning and readiness. Emergency exercise design cuts across all industries from the health sector to the Fire sector or natural disasters, and business Sector among others.
Course Objectives
By the end of the training, participants would be able to
- Understand the fundamentals of exercise design.
- Develop emergency exercise programs for their agencies or jurisdiction.
- Implement the developed emergency exercises for maximum results.
- To test new and existing emergency plans to the fullest and identify potential flaws, while providing suggested corrective actions

- Testing and validating plans, policies, procedures, training, equipment, and interagency agreements
- Training personnel and clarifying roles and responsibilities, as supported by plans and procedures
- Improving interagency coordination and communications
- Identifying gaps in resources and training, and identifying areas for improvement

- Getting the basics of the context, core principles, concepts and processes related to the development and management of an emergency exercise design.
- Designing, conducting and managing a functional exercise for more than a year.
- Describe how to establish the foundation of an exercise
- Outline the steps necessary to design and develop a series of exercises
- Describe how to conduct an exercise
- The what, why and how to test an emergency plan to identify possible errors or failure to avoid an unfortunate outcome.
- The Exercise Evaluation: Outline of how to evaluate an exercise
- Design and implement a contingency plan for each exercise designed
